Consistency

Once you create a routine that works for you, it’s important to stick to it as closely as you can. Whether it’s the time that you wake up, the class you take at the gym, or even the coffee that your drink. These routines will help eliminate the stress of overthinking your processes first thing in the morning and help trust that you’re in a healthy routine.

Positivity

It’s important to start your day with the proper mindset. Is there something stressful that you have to handle? Trust that you’ll handle it – and do so first thing! By going into the day confident that you’ll have everything done by the evening will set you up with the right mentality to get things done. While it might sound cliché to say that the right mindset will change the world, it can truly work wonders.

Fun

When people think of establishing a morning routine, they might automatically default to the more boring aspects of it. However, your morning routine can and should have a little bit of fun in it. Whether it’s listening to a podcast, writing in a journal, or walking your dog, you should something that you genuinely enjoy doing so that your routine feels less like something you “need” to do and more of something that you enjoy doing.

Cheat Days

It’s important to remember that you don’t have to go about your routine every single day. While the positive side effects of your day often outweigh the need to do anything else. If you need to sleep in one day, sleep as long as your body can manage. If you need to drink a second cup of coffee one day, stop by your favorite coffee shop twice. Listen to your mind and body to set it up for the best day. While consistency is key in a routine, the most important thing is that you leave room for what you need in the moment. Flexibility can be even more important than rigidity in a routine.

It’s no secret that beginning your day right is the key to ending your day right. While establishing a new routine might seem overwhelming, it can also be fun. Likewise, the benefits of having a routine can set you up have a more productive day and be a more productive person.
