Probiotics

Probiotics

Ā

Probiotics are organisms such as bacteria or yeast that improve health. They are available in supplements and foods. The idea of taking live bacteria or yeast may seem strange at first. After all, we take antibiotics to fight bacteria. An antibiotic can not tell the difference between good and bad bacteria, therefore it is important when taking an antibiotic that your health care provider considers replacing the good bacteria with a suitable Probiotic. The digestive system is home to more than 500 different types of bacteria so it is important that an expert evaluate each case individually. Probiotics also keep the intestines and immune system healthy and assist in digesting food.**
